Installing boot manager Boot-US on separate ESP partition (UEFI)
Starting with Boot-US 4.2.0, the target ESP partition for the installation of the boot manager can be selected directly.
This makes it easy to install the boot manager in a separate ESP partition.
A separate ESP partition can be created as follows:
- Select the menu command "Partitions/Create..."
- Select a free space on a GPT disk.
- Create a new partition (in GPT style) with a size of approx. 250 MB.
- Select "FAT32" as the file system and "EFI System part." as the partition type. Format the partition and assign it the volume name "BMGRUS", for example.
- An empty FAT32 partition with the selected properties is created.
- When you subsequently install the boot manager Boot-US, you can select this partition as the target ESP partition.
Comment:
The ESP partition containing the boot manager Boot-US must always be visible.
Only then can the UEFI firmware start the boot manager Boot-US when the computer is started.
